The House of Representatives says it will “name and shame” Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) that refuse to appear before it with their audited reports.

The Chairman, Committee on Public Accounts, Rep. Wole Oke, disclosed this during an investigative public hearing into the presentation of audit reports of MDAs on Monday.
The committee is investigating the “allegations of deliberate and reckless refusal by non-treasury funded MDAs to render accounts to the Office of the Accountant-General to the Federation (OAGF)”.

The Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC-Oluomo), has warned commercial drivers against indiscriminate increase in transport fare over the ban of motorcycles and tricycles in some parts of Lagos State.

The NURTW boss gave the warning in a statement on Monday, saying the warning became imperative following the complaints from members of public, alleging commercial drivers of taking advantage of the ban to inflict more pains on the commuters.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari in the State House over the protracted security crises plaguing the country.
After the meeting, Lawan who said Buhari opened up to them, added that security matters are uppermost in the president’s mind.

The Police from Ijora Badia, Area B Command, on Monday, arrested 24 suspects for blocking major roads in Ijora, Lagos following the recent ban of motorcycle (Okada) and tricycle (Keke) by the State Government.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, in a statement said the suspects caused major obstructions on the roads, burning tyres, looting and stealing from unsuspecting road users.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the effect of the ban of Okada and Keke, in Lagos State took effect on Feb. 1.

The crisis rocking local government administration in Oyo state took another swift as one person, identified as Abdulasisi Isa was shot dead on Monday during a clash in Surulere Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased was said to have been killed when supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and those of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), clashed over who is the authentic Chairman of the Local Government Area.
