Reports from Gamboru Ngala local government in Borno State indicate that several people, mainly women and children, have been killed as explosion suspected to have been masterminded by Book Haram rocked the area.
The explosives were said to have been planted close to a bridge between Nigeria and Cameroon border.
Traders, who spoke to DAILY POST on phone, said the bomb exploded during routine security check on people, who are coming out of the market.
Alhaji Tahir Mamman, who spoke to our Correspondent said he cannot ascertain the number of casualty.

The wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga was granted bail by Zimbabwe’s High Court on Monday after spending three weeks in detention for allegedly trying to kill her husband.
Prosecutors say Marry Mubaiwa, who denies all charges, tried to unplug Chiwenga’s life support tubes in a South African hospital in June.
She was initially arrested on Dec. 14 on separate charges including fraud and money laundering.
A High Court judgment by Judge Pisirai Kwenda has granted Mubaiwa bail for 50,000 Zimbabwe dollar (3,000 dollars), and ordered her to surrender her diplomatic passport and report to a local police station once every two weeks.

At least 14 people, including seven students, were killed on Saturday in Toeni, Sourou province, in northwestern Burkina Faso when the bus transporting them jumped on an explosive device.

Dangote’s net worth of $14.8 billion could buy 12.0 million troy ounces of gold; 279 million barrels of crude oil; and its equivalent to 1,240 per cent of the total wealth of the 500 richest people in the world.
