Anti-riot policemen on patrol

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State boiled on Monday as a policeman reportedly shot dead three people.
Those shot dead are a commercial driver and two of his passengers. The dastard act has led to riot in the state’s capital.

Angry workers of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA) Monday barricaded the office of the interventionist agency in Port Harcourt, locking out visitors and grounding activities there.
The workers arrived the premises of the authority in the early hours of Monday, carrying placards, calling for the sack of the management board and probe of the River Basins Development authorities across the country.

An 11-year-old student of Patterson Memorial Grammar School, Awada, Onitsha, Anambra State, identified as Chigozie Anyichie, has been burnt beyond recognition by a strange fire in his school.
The deceased, who is said to be a JSS 1 student, was said to be inside the school’s hostel when the incident occurred, while others had gone for devotion.
A source said, “Property worth millions of naira were destroyed in the inferno while the deceased was burnt beyond recognition.”
