Fiorentina announced on Saturday that they had fired coach Vincenzo Montella with the club struggling in 14th in Serie A.

“Vincenzo Montella has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team,” the club announced on its web site. “The decision was taken following a long and detailed analysis of the team’s performances and results.”
“Given the need to rediscover the necessary grit and determination on the pitch and produce an immediate turnaround, the owners and management decided that a change of coach was the best option,” the club continued.

Forty illegal gas plants have in the month of December, 2019 been sealed in Akwa Ibom State by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Eket Field Office over unsafe practices. The Operations Controller of DPR in the state, Mr. Tamunoiminabo Kingsley-Sundaye disclosed this during a sensitisation workshop for downstream operators (White product and Liquidified Petroleum Gas handlers) in Uyo friday. Nigeria has been placed on the United States Special Watch-List (SWL) for governments that have engaged in or tolerated severe violations of religious freedom.
This was announced in a statement by Mike Pompeo, US secretary of state, on Friday.

A Primary School pupil of Great Star Nursery and Primary School, named Christian, has drowned in the swampy River, near the Ibesikpo Street, in Calabar South local government area of Cross River.
The incident occurred when the victim was allegedly sent to go and fetch water from the river, along with a few others.
